Our mission is to support individuals as they progress within their dance and recovery journeys.
Our vision is to build independence and confidence in all individuals we work with and provide an inclusive, supportive environment for all.
Manta Dance and Physio is run by Marie Coggon, a qualified International Dance Teacher's Association ballet teacher and Health Care and Professions Council registered Physiotherapist.
Why Manta Dance and Physio?
After running a successful dance school for several years and qualifying as a Physiotherapist, Marie wished to combine both the dance lessons and Physiotherapy sessions into one business.
The name needed to reflect Marie's calm, holistic approach to dance teaching and Physiotherapy, hence the most calm creature in the sea was chosen; the Manta ray.
We offer a wide range of programmes for dancers of all ages and levels, from recreational classes to pre-professional training. Our programmes are designed to provide our students with a comprehensive dance education, including technique, artistry, and performance skills.
Our classes are run by a Royal Academy of Dance trained, International Dance Teachers' Association qualified, fully insured, first aid trained dance teacher, with over fourteen years dance teaching experience.
Our group classes are available to those aged two and a half and over, we also provide private classes, which are suitable for those wishing to choreograph a dance for a special occasion or for those needing assistance in choreographing a dance for college.
Our Physiotherapy sessions are run by a Health Care and Professions Council registered Physiotherapist, with experience working in musculoskeletal and neurology departments as well as centres for those with mental health conditions and disabilities.
All Physiotherapy sessions are private to provide the best possible individualised care. We travel to you and complete the sessions in the comfort of your own home.
